Unpack the zipfile rankingbadge-0.4.zip
Upload folder rankingbadge to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
Make cache directory writeable chmod 777
Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
Go to settings -> RankingBadge and configure colors etc.
Place in your template or use the sidebar widgets.

CMF Ads’ WordPress Plugin to Create Widget

Once you have installed the plugin, go to Appearance – Widgets and add the CMF Ads widget. You can then choose the options for this widget. You will be asked for the site ID – you can get this by going to the CMF Ads Control Panel and clicking Get Widget next to the site you’re working on.

The plugin is only available to those of you with a self-hosted WordPress blog.

I have been hunting for a plugin to view my WP Statistics and to track my visitors’ search terms in order to arrive in my blog and there I found StatPress Reloaded!

This plugin (previously known as StatPress) shows you real time statistics about your blog. It collects information about visitors, spiders, search keywords, feeds, browsers, OS etc.

Once the plugin StatPress has been activated it immediately starts to collect information. Using StatPress you can see your visitors actions while they are surfing your blog or check which are the preferred pages, posts and categories. In the Dashboard menu you will find the StatPress page where you could look up the statistics (overview or detailed). StatPress also includes a widget you can add to a sidebar (or easy PHP code if you can’t use widgets!).

Multilanguage

StatPress speaks English, Italian, Spanish, French, German, Russian, Norwegian, Dutch, Brazilian, Turkish, Swedish!

The widget is customizable. These are the available variables:

So far, these are the plugins that I think deserve my recommendation.

I don’t simply recommend but I will constantly update this list.

How to Install WordPress to Your Server Manually – Step by Step Installation

Check that you and your web host has met the minimum requirements to run WordPress.
Download the latest version of WordPress here: http://wordpress.org/download/. It is recommended that you download the zip file.
Unzip/extract the zip file.
Go to your cPanel. The address to your cPanel should look like this: http://www.greatbloggingtips.com/cpanel (replace my domain name with yours)
Create a MySQL database and a user who has all the privileges for WordPress on your web server.

Grant All Privileges to User
Open your wordpress folder and rename the wp-config-sample.php folder to wp-config.php
Open wp-config.php and fill in the details of the database created earlier.

If you want to integrate WordPress into a subdirectory of your domain (e.g. http://www.greatbloggingtips.com/blog), rename the wordpress folder to “blog” and upload it to the root directory of your web server (e.g. public_html)

To run the WordPress installation script, go to http://greatbloggingtips.com/wp-admin/install.php if you installed WordPress in the root directory or http://greatbloggingtips.com/blog/wp-admin/install.php if you installed WordPress in a subdirectory called “blog”.
A username and password will be generated and you will be using them to login into your WordPress account in the future.
